    Book review by Laura

lauraweb-240hLaura, aged 7, (KJS) wrote this book review about Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.

I love to read the book Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. It is about a 17-year-old boy whose name is Harry Potter. He has been left with a mission to find and destroy all Horcruxes. These are: Lord Voldemort’s Diary, Lord Voldemort’s grandad’s ring, Helga Huffelpuff’s cup, Salazar Slytherin’s locket (his ancestor), Rowena Ravenclaw’s Diadem, Lord Voldemort’s snake Nagini and surprisingly Harry Potter himself.

Harry Potter and his two friends (Hermione Granger and Ronald Wesley) face dangers that you can never imagine.

harry_potter_and_the_deathly_hallows-300hFirst they have to follow Dolores Umbridge to a room full of Dementors to find the locket.
Second Ronald Wesley leaves his friends but returns to kill the locket with the sword of Gryffindor.
Later in Gringotts they find Helga Hufflepuff’s cup.
Third they kill the cup with a Basilisk’s tooth at Hogwarts. Later they find Rowena’s Diadem. Then Vincent Crabbe accidentally kills it with magic fire.
Fourth, Voldemort tries to kill Harry but fails to kill him. He only destroys the Horcrux in Harry. While Neville has killed Nagini.
Lastly Harry tries to give Voldemort one more chance to show remorse, but Voldemort ignores him and Harry Potter and Lord Voldemort duel for the last time and Lord Voldemort dies. As Voldemort has the Elder Wand and is not its true Master, it flies to Harry.

After reading the book I keep wanting to read it and know more!

    Meet a reader

meet-a-reader-matthew-singapore-280hHi, my name is Matthew and I’m seven years old.
I now live in Singapore but I used to live in Hong Kong. I’ve been looking at the Daily7 since I was a baby but now can read all the words!  Sometimes, I read my sister’s Daily10.

I go to Singapore American School and love to sell my art work on the street. I also like to make inventions. My two favourite sports are basketball and baseball. I’m in second grade and have a really nice teacher.

Singapore is always hot but has fun things to do like climb trees in the Botanical Garden, see animals at the zoo, ride the luge at Sentosa and now Universal Studios. I like to ski in the USA and visit Ocean Park in HK.
